The film about Alva Yoga
My name is Marianne Eide.
I run Alva Yoga at The Yoga Studio in Horten.
I am originally a dancer. Worked abroad.
Was in London for 10 years, trained in Sweden, and travelled the world, dancing.
Then I came to a point where I was a bit tired of all the hassle and I really got into yoga.
It gradually built up and I felt the need to have my own place.
And that became Alva Yoga in 2005.
I’m not originally from Horten. I’m a newcomer.
And coming to Horten from a big city like London, Gothenburg or Stockholm gave me so much calm.
It was like I could just go out the door and everything was on my doorstep.
You can walk down to town; you can do things without having to stand in loads of queues.
There’s nature right outside my door.
A lot of my driving force comes from my desire to share what I feel that yoga gives me.
It’s actually pretty simple.
It gives me tremendous calm and a great capacity to deal with everyday life.
Deal with life.
I don’t always think life’s very easy so it’s good to have a tool to help.
