Norautron supplies technology and professional electronics to industrial businesses worldwide.The company has customers in maritime shipping, defence, offshore installations, space travel, charging of electric cars and monitoring of ports, airports, etc. – in principle, everything related to industrial electronics. Norautron is experiencing high demand for its services, which has led to the company enjoying excellent growth in recent years.

“We’ve grown from being a small Norwegian outfit with a turnover of 15 million in 1989 to having passed one billion in 2015. If we include our other companies in Embron Group, we’ve actually exceeded 1.7 billion. We’re quite proud to have achieved this from our base here in Horten,” says Øyvind Sedivy, CEO of Norautron AS.

Being located in Horten is important to Norautron. This is because the fjord-side town is home to a number of leading technology companies as well as to the University of South-Eastern Norway with its engineering programmes. This results in a fantastic technology and electronics community, with Norautron benefitting from expertise and partners right outside their gates.

“We have an industrial cluster in Horten that is completely unique. Fully on par with Kongsberg and Trondheim. Not only that, we have a fantastic location, so many people want to settle here on the sunny coast with us. Here, people can enjoy an exceptional quality of life while simultaneously being able to work with what they’re passionate about. These are important factors in why we’ve been so successful,” says Sedivy.

EXPECTING FURTHER GROWTH

In Asia, Norautron is big in shipping; in the USA the company is an important supplier to the medical and automation industries; and in Europe the company is heavily involved in a number of different industries, from aerospace to subsea. Norautron's products can be found from ocean depths up to 6000 metres to far out in space. And if we are to believe Sedivy, there is no prospect of an end to the company’s growth any time soon.

“Advanced electronics are here to stay. The components may well be getting smaller and smaller, but they are increasing dramatically in number. We find that our products are being implemented and used for new applications and purposes all the time, so we’re looking forward to a bright future. However, if we’re going to keep pace on the international front, we need to focus on being both competitive and innovative, so that’s exactly what we’re going to do,” Sedivy concludes.
